My name is Paula Chalker and I teach second grade at Community Christian School. I have been teaching at CCS from the beginning of 2005, and I love being part of such a wonderful family. I have taught kindergarten, second, third, and the fourth grades. Before starting CCS, I worked in the public school system as a teacher’s aide and as a substitute teacher. I am currently working on completing my bachelor’s degree in Education.
I grew up in Connecticut and I moved to Chester, Massachusetts, in 1999, where I live with my husband and two children. Incidentally, both have had the opportunity and privilege to attend Community Christian School. In my leisure time, I enjoy backyard bonfires with my family, gardening, and our horse and donkey. (Yes, I said donkey!)
After teaching in a public school setting and now in a Christian school, I feel so blessed to be with such Godly people. Yes, I am a teacher, but I feel my other roles are just as important. Namely, I am also a friend and a mentor to my students. Partnering with parents in educating their children is such a blessing and an honor for me. I look forward to many more years of seeing God work at this wonderful school.
